Templates are your collection of ready-to-use documents for creating contracts. Browse from existing templates offered by us, or simply create and customise your own.

To browse templates, click on the Templates button in the left navigation bar.

You will be brought to the Template Library where you can see the following:

  1. Create New Template button

    • Only visible to Template Managers.

    • For more information on how to create a template, refer to this article.

  2. Template Categories Navigation

    • You will see your frequently used templates, company templates (if available), and Lexagle templates.

    • Template Managers can manage the Template Categories, Sub Categories, and their hierarchies.

  3. Template Categories

    • Template Managers can classify templates into categories for better organisation.

  4. Templates

    • Dynamic Template (Template with Contract Generation Form)

      • Template Manager needs to create a Contract Generation Form with a .docx file so that other users can fill it out and automatically generate contracts in Lexagle to send to a room or to download the document.

      • Only .docx files can be used to create a dynamic template.

    • Static Template (Template for Download)

      • Template Manager needs to upload a file either in .docx or .pdf format to be downloaded as a template and used "as-is".

    • Draft Template

      • When creating a dynamic or static template, the Template Manager can choose to save the template as a draft before publishing it to make changes later.

      • Draft templates are modifiable and unpublished, and only visible to the Template Manager. A template can only have 1 draft version at a time.

To see more information about a template, simply click on the template tile or click on View Information in the three dots menu.

Dynamic Template (Template with Contract Generation Form)

To use a dynamic template, click on the Generate button in the template tile.

You will see the Contract Generation Form with the fields you have to fill in.

After you are done filling in the fields, you can either click on:

  • Preview - See a preview of the generated contract.

  • Generate:

    • Generate & Download - Download the contract as a document (.docx file).

    • Generate & Collaborate Internally - Send the contract to an Internal Room.

    • Generate & Send To Counterparty - Send the contract to an External Room.

Static Template (Template for Download)

To use a static template, click on the Download button in the template tile.

The contract will be downloaded as a document (.docx or .pdf file).
